Douze Degrés opens on a rare obsession: turning everyday gestures into micro sci‑fi rituals. For Cercle Festival 2024, the Paris studio imagined a Water Station as a lunar module parked at Le Bourget—suddenly drinking becomes choreography, quite civilised for a line of dehydrated festivalgoers. Flare’s story begins next against an even stranger backdrop: the Sphinx Observatory at 3,600 metres, where Cercle Music staged Argy. Up there, the designers toyed with optical lenses, cameras and reflections to chase a deceptively simple question: how to make light visible in a new way. Back in the studio they introduced a candle. The flame threads through a lens, compresses, projects and becomes a signal. Flare keeps that rare recipe: optical bravura, an old domestic ritual and the small, stubborn wish to live in a lighthouse without leaving your living room.
